Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is the joint fourth installment in the Super Smash Bros. series, being released shortly after its paired title, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. As stated in its title, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is a game released for the Wii U. It was first released in North America on November 21, 2014, then in Europe (including South Africa) on November 28, 2014, Australia on November 29, 2014, and lastly Japan on December 6, 2014. The game was succeeded by the Nintendo Switch title, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, in 2018.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U features the same characters and items as in its paired title, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, although it features a different selection of stages and a variety of modes. The game introduces the ability for up to eight players to fight on stages instead of four players like in earlier installments.

Smash Tour
Smash Tour is a mode exclusive to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. It is essentially a board game and can be played with up to four players. The objective is to collect as many fighters and stat boosts before all turns are over. Once the game concludes, the players fight in a stock battle using the fighters they collected. There are three boards: a small board, a medium board, and a large board.
