Squishys are squid enemies who appear in several Kirby titles. They make their first appearance in Kirby's Dream Land. Squishys are often colored white, but their light blue counterparts have appeared relatively often as well. While they make several appearances, Squishys often only appear in a few levels. They are one of the few enemies whom Kirby encounters both on land and underwater. Squishys swim around in bursts, much like real life squids do. They have the ability to jump out of the water, usually to go on land. Squishys are also capable of jumping while they are on land.

Main series
Kirby's Dream Land
In Kirby's Dream Land, Squishys are only encountered in Float Islands, where they are very common. Squishies have the ability to swim around in midair, an ability which was removed from several of their subsequent appearances. In the Extra Game, Squishys are replaced by Flotzos.
Kirby's Adventure / Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land
In Kirby's Adventure and its remake Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, Squishys are encountered in a few levels. They retain most of their behavior from Kirby's Dream Land except for their ability to swim in midair. In the remake, Squishy has a turquoise color variant.
Kirby Super Star / Kirby Super Star Ultra
In Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra, Squishys appear in three of the main games: Spring Breeze, The Great Cave Offensive, and Milky Way Wishes. They act the same as in Kirby's Adventure. In Spring Breeze, Squishys serve an identical purpose as in Kirby's Dream Land, and are even replaced by Flotzos in Revenge of the King.
Spinoffs
Kirby's Avalanche
In Kirby's Avalanche, Squishy is fought as the fifth boss. Like the other opponents, Squishy has a short exchange with Kirby before the battle starts.
Kirby's Block Ball
In Kirby's Block Ball, a Squishy is encountered as the single opponent of Stage 2-4, where it patrols the upper area. Kirby must hit the Squishy four times to defeat it, causing the Warp Star to appear. The Warp Star leads to Stage 2-5, where Kirby must battle a massive Squishy.
During the boss fight, as Kirby is moving about, the Squishy boss has the ability to grab Kirby with its tentacles and throw him in a random direction. Kirby must hit Squishy a total of 12 times to defeat it.
