Parasol is a recurring Copy Ability within the Kirby franchise, in which it debuted in Kirby's Adventure. Unlike most other Copy Abilities, Parasol does not change Kirby's appearance, and instead gives him an object of the same name.
Game appearances
Kirby's Adventure / Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land
Parasol makes its debut in Kirby's Adventure, and also appears in Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land. Parasol Waddle Dee and Parasol Waddle Doo are the main providers of this ability, even though Paint Roller's drawn parasol also provides this ability. This ability provides protection from projectiles or other hazards above Kirby, allows him to safely float down, and can cause damage to nearby enemies using the Parasol Swing.
Kirby's Pinball Land
While the ability doesn't appear as a copy ability (as Copy Abilities are non-existent in this game), its appearance can be seen on the Kracko Land board with a singular Kirby being the holder. Pulling one out as a singular Nimbus rains on him can help Kirby get to the top portion of the board.
Kirby's Dream Course
The Parasol ability appears in this game and can only be obtained from either Parasol Waddle Doo or Transformer (in a 2-player mode only). With this ability, it helps Kirby navigate through the air, and can be helpful to steer and gently float down to maintain a precise landing. For some reason, Kirby's parasol is green instead of the usual red and white like in other games. It can also serve as a brake for Kirby's momentum (if he goes too fast for example).
Kirby's Dream Land 2
Parasol reappears again in this game. Kirby can gain this ability from either Jumper Shoot (originally spelt as Jumpershoot) or a single Drifter (referred to as Floaty the Drifter in this game). This ability acts exactly like it did in Kirby's Adventure, with the exact same attack, such as the Parasol Swing. When mounting on an Animal Friend, this ability's power is boosted, depending on the animal friend Kirby is currently riding on.
Kirby Super Star / Kirby Super Star Ultra
Kirby's Dream Land 3
Parasol reappears in this game. This ability is provided by Sasuke, Jumper Shoot (once again), Klinko and Bukiset (when holding a parasol).

In Kirby: Right Back at Ya!
Parasol Kirby appears three times in the anime, first debuting in Cappy New Year, after inhaling Sasuke while attempting to escape a giant firework rocket made by Escargoon in an attempt to rid Cappy Town of the Star Warrior, only for him to be spotted safely floating down. The other times were in both Escargoon Rules and D'Preciation Day respectively. In Escargoon Rules, Kirby gains this ability by inhaling four Drifters, while in D'Preciation Day, he gains it from inhaling Buttercup's umbrella to gain the upper hand against the monster, Chuckie, sent by Nightmare Enterprises.
