Featured article Kirby's Dream Land is the first title of the Kirby franchise. It was originally released for the Game Boy in 1992. The game stars Kirby, who goes on an adventure to retrieve the food and Sparkling Stars that King Dedede stole from the Dream Landers. In 1995, the game received a sequel, Kirby's Dream Land 2. In 2011, Kirby's Dream Land was ported to the Nintendo 3DS's Virtual Console. A year later, in 2012, Kirby's Dream Land was included as one of the games in the Wii compilation title, Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition. News A new Kirby game, Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe was revealed on September 13, 2022 on a Nintendo Direct, and is set to be released in February 2023. 2 new Copy Abilities, Sand and Mecha were recently confirmed to be coming to Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe. A new Kirby game, Kirby's Dream Buffet, was revealed on July 12, 2022 and released a month later, on August 17, 2022. Kirby and the Forgotten Land has been released on March 25, 2022. A playable demo of Kirby and the Forgotten Land has been released on March 3, 2022. Did you know? All Japanese copies of Kirby: Canvas Curse (pictured) came bundled with a Nintendo DS stylus. Waddle Dees eat food by absorbing it through their faces. Masked Dedede's theme in Kirby Super Star Ultra is based on King Dedede's theme from Kirby no Kirakira Kizzu. Whenever Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land is booted, a total of 120 Kirbys run across the title screen.
