Kirby: Canvas Curse, named Kirby's Power Paintbrush in Europe and Australia, is a Kirby game for the Nintendo DS released in 2005. It was later released for the Wii U's Virtual Console in 2015 in Europe and Australia and in 2016 in Japan and America. Unlike other Kirby games, the gameplay is done from the Touch Screen using only a Stylus.

Gameplay

In the game, Kirby is trapped in the shape of a ball and continuously rolls forward. To control Kirby's movements, the player must use the Magical Paintbrush to draw Rainbow Lines. The farther the line is, the faster Kirby moves. This is essential to reach some higher areas, cross gaps, and even climb walls because Kirby cannot jump. An ink gauge is shown on the top screen, and drawing lines depletes it. Whenever a line is drawn, it disappears shortly after, therefore refilling the ink gauge.

Another use of the Stylus is to stun enemies and to make Kirby perform a spin attack. Both of these actions can defeat an enemy, although the former requires Kirby to move into a stunned enemy first. If Kirby defeats an enemy which has a certain Special Ability, he can obtain it from them. To activate the acquired Special Ability, the player must tap Kirby with the Stylus. Each Special Ability has different actions.

As with most Kirby games, there are a few unique Sub-Games. Kirby: Canvas Curse features four in total: Block Attack, Cart Run, Paint Panic, and Rainbow Run.
