Fire is a recurring Copy Ability in the Kirby franchise, and it first appears in Kirby's Adventure in 1993, making it one of his oldest abilities. With this ability, Kirby can breathe a cone of fire from his mouth, which can be used to fight enemies, light things on fire like fuses, candles, or break through the ice. In later installments, some common moves, like becoming a fireball (similar to the Burning ability) would become integrated from the latter copy ability. The flame from Kirby's mouth depends how it's being used (i.e. spinning in a fiery pinwheel along the ground or mounting himself into a huge pyre). Fire Kirby can also boost some of his allies with the Sizzle Power Effect.

Game appearances

Kirby's Adventure / Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land

Fire makes its first appearance in Kirby's Adventure, and in the remake. The main provider of this ability is Hot Head, and on occasion, Mr. Bright's dropped stars.

Kirby Super Star / Kirby Super Star Ultra

In Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra, the Fire ability returns again. However, in Kirby Super Star Ultra, Fire Lion makes a brief return as a mid-boss in the sub-game, Revenge of the King, and in the True Arena. Inhaling Fire Lion will yield this ability, unlike the Burning copy ability from Kirby's Adventure and its enhanced remake.

Super Smash Bros. series

Fire Kirby is featured as a trophy in three Super Smash Bros. games: Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. It is obtained via random drop in the first two games while the latter has a specific unlock criteria in which the Kirby's Crazy Appetite event match has to be cleared first.
